Hillview Trip - June 2018 #2

We are here this week to celebrate Grandma's birthday. Grandpa and me went out to pack food. It's easier to eat at home with the kids. I think everyone's more comfortable at home. I'm sure Dad is, he keeps mentioning he prefers to eat at home :-)

As usual, putting Gareth and OO together is bound to create a rowdy and loud time in the house.

I love seeing OO having a good time running around the house. It brings back fond memories of myself playing around the house. It's a luxury that 99.99% of children in Singapore don't get to experience. So we'll trying our best to make sure OO and 阳阳 gets a taste of it.

New Drawing Board

Meimei has been thinking about this for some time now. She like to draw and hopes to share the same interest with OO. Children like to doodle, draw, colour etc so that comes as a good bonding activity.

OO is definitely enjoying the together time with Meimei. And drawing on the board beats her making a mess at the table.

Sleeping On The Bicycle

I didn't think it would ever happen. But after going to 3 different playgrounds yesterday, OO must be exhausted. I didn't know she had fallen asleep till we reach the kopitiam to tabao dinner. 

She gave me a scare when I couldn't wake her no matter how I called her. I had to hold my fingers against her neck to feel for a pulse ... yes it was that serious. Thankfully she was just so tired that she KO-ed.

Stickied By OO

I found a stickier stuck on my back when I was washing up this morning.

OO had somehow stuck it on my bad without my knowledge! I'm been stickied by a 3 year old!

It was the colour label for the high chair. She had been playing with it the whole time while we were fixing up the chair. Sneaky little rascal.

Big Girl Chair

OO has consistently refuse to sit in the white baby chair recently. She complains that it is very hot and will rather kneel in it. In the past weeks she has taken to walking from the baby chair to the dining table chairs.

We cannot risk her suffering a fall and so we went to Ikea to grab a high chair. We made sure we brought OO to try it out. She has this stubborn streak that if she doesn't like something nothing is going to make her use it.

Our little boss now has her own chair where she can get up and down easily. It's tougher to keep her in the chair during feeding but at least she isn't trying to perform aerobatics and jump between chairs.

Reading To 弟弟

Meimei managed to catch a shot of OO reading to YY. We have been reading bedtime stories to OO so she is replicating that 'mother hen' action on 弟弟. Ahhh so heart warming. I hope this close kinship continues to blossom as they grow up.

Papi Old Already

I had a very interesting conversation with Meimei today.

Meimei: "I had the most amusing conversation with OO yesterday... OO: papi old already.. and I asked why? .... OO: because he run run run then he will *SIGH-GASP.... "

Me: "!!!!"

Meimei: "You need to go jog hahahaa"

Meimei: "I tried to video but the video I was getting her to repeat so it looks like she was led into saying those things but the actual conversation wasn't like that hahah"

Me: "Hhaha" (awkward laughter)

Meimei: "no la papi not old ... OO: no! he old already!"

Me: (shakes head with palm in face) "Alamak girl girl hor"

Meimei: "who else is old? ... OO: ah mah.. ah mah because leg pain pain she old already"

Its true I pant like a dog when I run after her. I'm no longer like I was in my younger days. Sigh ...

Fishing With Grandpa

Dad was over at our place to pick up Mum and the maid. And he played with OO her latest obsession, fishing game.

We always knew OO is competitive. And she isn't shy to cheat to get her way.

Everyone was all laughter seeing OO step on the fishes to prevent Grandpa from winning. Heheheh.

An afterthought though rang in mind, we need to curb this tendency as she gets older. Yes, always try to win, but within moral boundaries. That said, she is still too young to understand so its all fun and laughter for now. heheheh.

Much Needed & Appreciated Support

It's Hari Raya and Mama has gone back to Indonesia to look after Nyawama as the maid has gone back for a couple of weeks. Our maid Siti has also requested to go back for the festivities. Just a few days over the weekend but with both of our pillar support gone we badly needed help.

Thankfully Mum was available. My bro and Carrine have brought Gareth along for the holidays on the same weekend so Mum was free to come over to help. She even brought along their maid. Phew! I cannot imagine what we'll do without her and the maid. 

OO was very happy to see Grandma here. I think it was a precious opportunity to let them bond. :-)

Business Class Shoulders

YY seems to like sleeping on Nyaong's shoulders ... and only his. YeeYee calls it business class shoulders.

Yeah, definitely comfortable. Nyaong's shoulders are broad and meaty, lots of cushioning haha.

OO's First MacDonald's Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream

OO loves it, much more than the strawberry ice cream cup. And she is always very sensible and obedient when it comes to ice cream treats.

I got a small cup and gave her three scoops of the strawberry shortcake and ate the rest. No fuss, no complains. She happily shared the treat and enjoyed her small share thoroughly. She loves the Oreo bits as it gives a good crunch to the ice cream.

YY @ 4 months - Cuteness Overdose

YY has started interacting with people, and not just simply drink and sleep. He's a smiley child so we get many very beautiful pictures (... unlike his sister <.<).

Tummy Time

Hillview Trip - June 2018 #1

We are trying to come more often, preferably every other week at least. So YY and OO can get more time with Grandpa and Grandma. Plus OO's always big smiles when playing with Gareth.

Grandpa and Grandma are also excited that we come to visit. The whole house is much livelier ... and a whole lot more noisy haha.

We are glad to obliged with weekly trips, so long as both kid are not sick. Seems much easier to travel with YY than it was with OO.
