I try to put a date so you know how long ago I visited the place. I don't update this regularly though so you should do some research on the web before going to the restaurant, in case the place has moved or closed.
- Nan Hua Chang Seafood Restaurant - Our favourite spot for fish head steamboat. Soup does not contain MSG, is rich in favour and they don't skim on the fish meats. We go there at least once a month.
- Akashi Japanese Restaurant : Vivocity - They serve the best tasting sushi at the most reasonable prices here. I don't normally order sushi as I find them expensive but coming here I could simply dine on sushi alone. Oh and the duck inaniwa soup is fabulous as well. Nov13, Had this twice in a day during Tangs shopping day!
- Axis : Mandarin Oriental - Love the high tea. Last went there in 2010.
- Ayam Bakar Ojolali : Lucky Plaza - Serves good Indonesian street food. Nov13, had this recently during shopping.
- Crystal Jade Palace : Takashimaya - My go to place for good Dim Sum.
- Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill : Tanglin Place - Wonderful western diner food served in American portions. I think we were there in 2011 for a birthday celebration.
- Founder Bak Kut Teh Restaurant : Balestier Road - Good clear soup Bak Kut Teh, lots of celebrity photos on the wall. Jun13, celebrate Mum's bday ... Bro's suggestion.
- Greenhouse : The Ritz-Carlton Singapore - Meimei brought me here for our anniversary. I can't stop going back for the foie gras. Jun13, our anniversary.
- Haato : Ridgewood Close - My favourite ice cream joint.
- Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice 海南起骨鸡饭 : Golden Mile Food Centre - The only chicken rice I will seek out to eat.
- Hock Lam Beef : Far East Square - The original stall manned by the daughter.
- Hooked on Heads : Sin Ming Plaza - Potent curry fish head, serves a good mango glutinous rice dessert too. Hadn't had this since we got married in 2010. Nov13, I think it is still there the last time we went by that way.
- Kim Dae Mun Korean Cuisine : Le Meridian Hotel - Cheap, authentic and very tasteful Korean, you find Koreans come here to eat as well. Oct13, still going strong, tasteful as ever.
- La Noce : Chu Lin Road - Classic high class Italian restaurant. Went in 2011 for a celebration ... can't remember what though. Not sure if it is still there.
- Lian He Ben Ji Claypot Rice : Chinatown Food Centre - Fragrant with ample salted fish, rice cooked to perfection. Aug13, with Meimei and CF.
- Marutama Ramen : The Central & Liang Court - If you want ramen, this is the place to go.
- Melt, The World Cafe : Mandarin Oriental Hotel - One of the best international buffet spread in Singapore.
- Nakhon Kitchen : Bedok North - Amazingly good authentic Thai at hawker centre prices.
- Rakuzen : Millennia Walk - I love the Inaniwa udon served with quill eggs dip.
- Shinkushiya : Far East Square - You have to order the swordfish skewer, it melts in your mouth.
- Sofra Turkish Cafe & Restaurant - Loving turkish fare, also a strong contender if you are looking for Halal dining venues.
- Sushi Teh : Far East Square - Our default Japanese restaurant when we want comfort Japanese.
- Tampopo : Liang Court - Best black pork ramen in the country, be prepared for the long queue on weekends.
- The Line : Shangri-La Hotel Singapore - Best known for its oyster bar. Been here several times over the years, mostly for company events.
- Nanxiang Steam Bun Restaurant : Plaza Singapura - You have to try the duck rice. Update - It's no longer there, replaced by Mouth Restaurant. There is another outlet at Bugis junction but that outlet doesn't compare.
- Noble House by Tung Lok : UIC Building - Good Dim Sum ala carte buffet. Update - It's no longer there ... the whole building has been torn down. Not sure if it has moved to other locations.
- Special Shanghai Tim Sum : Margaret's Drive Food Centre - Serves terrifically fried 锅贴. I don't think the food centre is there anymore, at least not the old one. The last I remember going there was in 2010.
