萱萱: You know ALARMS, I can set my alarm to play my favorite song!

萱萱: AND because it is not sure what songs you like, it will let me play any song and play a long time

阳阳 Swimsafer 2.0

We are at Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex for YY's Swimsafer 2.0 test. The place looks like something out of the 80s and is very quiet. There were only a handful of people here swimming. The rest are all here for the various grades of Swimsafer tests.

You can tell 阳阳 is stressed as he keeps peeling his fingernails without even knowing it. 萱萱 is sick so Meimei has to stay home to look after her. But he is a brave boy. He man-ed up and went for the test without any fuss. I'm so proud of him ... he has grown up.

I rewarded him with lunch at the nearby MacDonald's. He seems very relieved that he passed the test. Good Job 阳阳!

M4 MacBook

Just bought a new M4 MacBook.

No pictures to show because I was silly and forgot to take still photos of the new MacBook. And Blogger is being a total ass application for not allowing me to upload frames from the video. It just keeps saying error without telling me exactly what the nature of the error is.

But I still wanted to document this because I'm writing this blog post now on it. Blah.

萱萱 and 阳阳 have been bugging us about coming to this new playground since it opened recently at the same building as the Berries tuition. We have been resisting it but happenstance just made it that we had to come here haha. We were at Kidztopia Marina Square this morning and Meimei had bought tickets online only for us to find out that there is private event when we reach there. What a scam. So anyways we came down to Tampines instead to see if we can get into this new playground.

What we discovered was that it has a special fixture .... an obstacle course that is 3 storeys up. You have to be strapped to a safety line to get around. The kids were extremely excited to try it, even though it took us a good 45 minutes to reach the front of the queue to get up.

We only purchased a ticket for an hour so this was really the only thing we played. Next time we'll buy a 2-3 hour ticket.

New Bookshelf From ScanTeak

The old Ikea bookshelf was giving way on the shelving planks. For something that cost SGD500 new, it's a totally crappy make of a bookshelf. Thankfully we got it from the as-is section but it still cost a good SGD350. So when it comes to find a replacement, we totally excluded Ikea. We need something more sturdy. Why pay top price and still get crap right?

So a little more than a week ago I went down to ScanTeak showroom at Ubi and they had these 4 bookshelves. I picked the one 2nd from the right as the panels are better made. It cost SGD600 but its made with teak so I expect it to hold better than the flimsy Ikea one.

The bookshelf arrived today and fit right into the spot. Once we fill up the shelves it'll like before.

Putting Towels On Drying Rack

Meimei had reminded me before to take my bath towel out of the bathroom and dry them on the racks. However it's hard to remember sometimes. I suspect she got the kids in on the request ... and they came up with creative ways to entice me to do their bidding hahaha. These are so precious!

Visiting The National Gallery Singapore

It was kinda of an impromptu trip. They had some activity setup for children to participate but it wasn't anything really immersive. Well at least it was cool enough in the building and the kids had something to do with Yeeyee and XY. 

Our Caddy Immortalised On Google

I wasn't aware of it till 阳阳 point it out to me on his iPad. He had gone on Google Earth and somehow navigated to our block and gone into street mode. And when he saw our old Caddy he took a screenshot for reference to share with us.

Oh how we miss the old Caddy .... both kids are always talking about it too. I think they like the sturdiness of the ride. It definitely feels more commanding on the road versus our current Serena.

Raid: Raid x TMNT Collab

I think it's the 30th Anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They are part of my childhood list of cartoons. Although I'm not really into them they still remind me of my younger days. I'm happy to see that Raid is clearly aware of its gaming community demographic where most players are probably in the 35-55 years old that grew up on the 80s series of cartoon heroes.

Raid did a good job with the TMNT aesthetics and looks very close to what I remember of the cartoons. The only one that kinda failed was April but that's ok. I don't even remember she exist till I was reminded of her on the loading screen.

Raid: First Faction Unity Champion

First faction unity champion I pulled. With so many good new champs lately, I'm out of resources and gear to build him. Guess he'll have to wait till I collect more stuff.

First Taste Of Aburi Sushi

We are at Sushi Bar Plaza Singapura for lunch today. And for the first time, we decided to let the children try the semi-raw Aburi Sushi roll. This has to be the first time they have raw Sushi. They are already old enough anyways. If they are ok with the raw sushi taste, we can finally go Japan! Heheh thanks Meimei for suggesting they try. Now to get to planning for a future holiday in the land of the rising sun.

Took a night flight so I can reach Singapore on Saturday morning. Surprised and happy to see a note on my table. Thank you 萱萱!

2 Weeks Of Room Service

I was working every night in the last fortnight while in Bangalore. So I didn't sit with the rest of the team at the lounge for dinner. I had all my meals in the room. Plus I really didn't feel like entertaining them. I prefer to stay in the room and be on my own. So much more freedom and relaxation.

Anyways below is a medley of room service meals I had. I think the best I had was the spicy fried noodles and spicy fried rice. Basically comfort food ... still nothing compared to eating at home but beggars can't be choosers ... especially in India.
