Covid Idiot(s) At Our Block

Why would anyone do this??!!

If you don't know already what I'm ranting about, its the piece of plastic pasted on the lift buttons. 

At first I thought the town council might have done this but it didn't make sense. Why do this when you have already contracted a vendor to put a chemical agent to prevent bacteria from collecting on the buttons? Plus you would need a cleaner to come wipe it at least once a day.

But before I jumped further at it I check with Nyaong whether their block has this. And as expected, they didn't have any plastic sheet on their lift buttons. So it is probably safe to conclude that someone in our block did this. I suspect it's someone who likes to use keys or toothpicks to press the buttons.

Right so you like to use a tool to press the buttons so you don't come into contact with the buttons. And you can't do it on the buttons directly else it scratches the chemical away. There is a nice big notice right beside the buttons to notify people so. Great so you can read and civic enough not to use your keys on the buttons. Then you come up with a plan to paste plastic on the buttons so you can get around it. But what about the rest of us that don't use keys?!

The plastic sheet is a cesspool of potential germs. You are sabotaging and putting your neighbours at risk of contracting Covid when we touch the plastic sheet to press the buttons to our floor.

This is pure idiocy and utter selfishness. I would go as far as calling this a crime because you are intentionally putting other people's health and well-being at risk. Omg ... the lockdown has made some people totally senile.

A Cereal Snack

萱萱 had the rare chance to make a cereal snack with Aunty Siti today. She loved the break from the monotony of staying at home due to Covid. I didn't try it cos its sweet but the kids seem to enjoy the crunchy snack.

Killer Handle?

It was raining cats and dogs so I went to close the windows in the kitchen. That's when I discover the dangling window handle. I wonder how long it has been like that ....

Whatever it may be, I immediately called Norman to schedule for the window supplier to come rectify it. Definitely don't want this falling down and hitting someone, that's a crime.

Fun In The Sun - East Coast Park On A Sunny Morning In May

I'm pretty sure these outings to East Coast Park will be one of the things the kids will remember fondly of their childhood. I like the outings too, not for the fun but I get a sense of pride and joy in seeing the kids enjoy themselves in the sun.

Due to Covid we stayed away from the crowded playground area and went further down the coast to a quiet shelter. There are no other amenities except for a toilet. But better this than the crowds ... you never know who might be infected.

萱萱 & 阳阳 have been asking for sand play since the last outing. So .... we brought the sand to the shelter instead of having to brave the hot sun. They had a wild blast just the same and totally enjoyed the morning. We also played with the gliding planes that Meimei bought. A magnificent morning outdoors.

阳阳 Toilet Training

阳阳 walked into the house today and immediately pulled down his pants at Meimei and Nyama to show he was not wearing pampers. Meimei and Nyama was laughing and cheering but as Meimei puts it "dunno to laugh or scream in horror at his flashing" hehe. Ahhh the innocence of youth :-)

I like that he is getting potty training in school. Meimei feedback that 阳阳 is one of a few who are starting since he has better comprehension of teachers' instructions. Hopefully soon enough we no longer need to buy so many pampers .... so we can use the money to buy more toys! Muhahahaha.

Naughty Corner

We all know what naughty corners are. But what I want to talk about is how relieved I am that 阳阳 is obediently following Meimei's instructions to stand against the wall. I mean 阳阳 is put there because he was naughty, but at the same time I commend him for being compliant ... at the tender age of 3. Interesting situation.

 

New Junior Study Table For 萱萱

OO's K2 now and we have been guiding her every Sunday on Berries and IcanRead homework. The toddler table is getting low for her and she has to bend her back to write. So we did a small revamp of the study to fit in 2 carpet, a junior table and junior swirl chair for her.

This setup makes the room more cramp but I think its worth it for the better posture and light. We'll probably make more adjustments as we go along.

Transporting Study Tables

The Caddy has proven again to be a very good buy. We were transporting the 2 1.4m Ikea Bekant study tables plus other boxes of stuff that YeeYee is bringing to Woodlands.

We were able to fit in the 2 tables by bringing down the 2nd and 3rd row seats. And there was still so much space for more. We kept the one seater in the middle row up so GX and YeeYee could come together to move the stuff.

Summoners War: Savannah

Finally pulled a OP unit! The wind beastrider Savannah. So hyped that I runed her up immediately.

Hopefully this unit gives me a different dimension to my arena offense. And it may even allow me to finally take my first extended foray into RTA, maybe.

First Day Back In Office In A Year

First time back in the office in a year. I had armed myself with packs of wet wipes and tissue to cleanup but there was no layer of dust as I thought. Amazingly it was like I had left it the day before. I guess keeping the room locked the whole time helped. Plus the room's pretty dry so no moisture to stink up the air in the room.

Forgot to take a photo to showcase the condition but oh well I just wanted to log a post to commemorate this event. Hopefully we'll see the end of the covid pandemic soon and everything goes back to normal!

Hillview Trip - Apr 2021

A lazy trip to Hillview. The kids had fun as always. It's been a month since the last visit due to 阳阳's month of horrible sickness. This time we were very cautious not to let the kids share food with the same bowl and spoon. No more taking chances.

A "Miserable" Night For Meimei

Meimei sent me a rundown of her tiring night with 阳阳. I get to laugh at it but I'm sure Meimei is totally drain from it.

4am

阳阳 : milk milk

Meimei: wet wet? Change diaper first then milk? 

阳阳: no

Meimei: (before offering his milk I check bed) wet wet already change first

阳阳: noooooooo!!!!!

Meimei: then you don’t ask me to change after milk

阳阳: ok

5am (haven’t sleep, his whole bed toss until no dry spot liao basically)

Meimei: you sure you don’t want to change?

阳阳: no need

Meimei: fine 

阳阳: here you take my pillow 

Meimei: why

阳阳: so it’s not wet

5.30am

Meimei: I change for you then you sleep on my bed. Not wet

阳阳: grinning 

Meimei: come here stand up take off pants

阳阳: no need stand up also can (but he stood up anyway heng ah I’m too tired to continue this liao)

萱萱 starts to shift and whine/cry sound in her sleep

Meimei: ssh quiet (to 阳阳)

阳阳: see? You make jiejie wake up already 

Meimei: glaring at him with deadly-but-heart-shaped eyes you need to keep quiet 

Now he is on my bed. I’m not sleeping because jiejie knee is 1 inch away from his head. She refuse to be moved and semi-cried so I don’t want to move her anymore.

Maybe go study work in a while
