A Month Of Illness

This has been a horrible month for 阳阳 where he was constantly sick with fever, cough and running nose. And as you can imagine it's been even more tiring for Meimei who practically didn't get sleep the whole month. She would wake up every hour to check on his temperature and couldn't get any sleep.

It's was so taxing that Meimei has phobia and implored that we do not bring him out. I suggested we go out when he got better in the past week and her immediate answer was to question if I want him to fall sick again.

Sign ... hopefully this is the last of the endless illness. 

Boy And Toys

阳阳 has an obsession with vehicles. His favourite is the fire truck and has many many variations of them. We never coax or induce him to like cars. It came naturally to him, as though his DNA knew boys should like cars. Well I'm not complaining, I cannot imagine the headache we would have if he was playing with dolls and makeup.

Hair Cut & Shopping

Another 萱萱 me day with Meimei. She loves the undivided attention as always. Today she was given a free rein to pick out a few items from Diaso. Isn't she adorable in her outfit? Hehehe

萱萱's First Tooth Drop

She was totally unfazed by the shaky tooth and happily showed it to anyone brave enough to stare at a wiggly tooth move around in her mouth. Of course I'm not one to stomach such icky and scary thing so I would refuse and turn my face away. This somehow fuelled her glee and constant insistence that I look at her tooth.

It came out during breakfast when she was biting in her cereal. Good thing she didn't shallow the tooth. She proudly parade her toothless gums after breakfast.

Finally A Double Door Fridge

This is a matter of circumstance rather than an active attempt to change the fridge. Although we expanded the kitchen base to fit a 2 door fridge last August, we continued to use our existing fridge since it still works ... till it started 'peeing' yesterday. The ice cream in the fridge totally melt so when I opened the top door and it fell and splatter over the floor. Thankfully we immediately went to purchase a fridge and paid for next day delivery. There was water again this morning.

Meimei was breathing a sign of relief when we discover the water this morning. We had been holding out by cleaning the ice off the fans regularly over the last year. We made the critical decision to buy one yesterday and thus saved ourselves the frustration of thawing meats and spoiling food.

I like the new setup and the spacious shelves in the 2 door. The height between the trays are taller and easier to see what is being stashed inside. We'll see how long this fridge last before problem starts to come. Our luck with the fridge has been abysmal.

萱萱 Is 6!

Woot! Girlgirl is 6 and oh so much a teenager already :-P

This is the last time we will be celebrating birthdays in school and we made sure 萱萱 knows too. And so Meimei 'broke the bank' and bought her a nice 2 tier cake for school that looks very very fancy.

Next year is primary 1 for OO and everything will be different. Gosh ... they grow up so fast. Soon enough they would be off to college *gasp~!!

For home we went for a medley of cakes which was really fun. I like how we could have different flavours of cakes.

A Proper Standing Table

Meimei has been working on a standing table from Ergoworks since late last year. There was a government scheme which reimburse employee for equipment such as tables and chairs. This was to promote companies and their employees to adopt work-from-home. My company didn't explored this scheme so I had to go with the make-shift option.

Yesterday I got mine as a gift from Meimei. I've been meaning to get one after seeing how well it worked for Meimei. Thanks deardear!

Fixing The Bathroom

Ciseerns finally got hold of a tiler to come fix the bathroom. I can imagine how bad it can be to find workers with the borders still closed with Malaysia.

He had to carefully take out the existing tiles and redo the tiling. We were lucky that the tiles were still available at Hafary. Dave helped to buy a box for the repairs.

They didn't charge us for the repairs even though the renovation has long past its warranty period. Pretty happy with the customer service.

Fun At East Coast Park

We have a rare outing to east coast park today. To spice things up we brought the bicycles so they can cycle on the riding track. They didn't ride long though as they were more interested in the playground and swing. 阳阳 wanted to play in the sand but we were not prepared for that. Still, they had lots of fun and I'm pretty sure they'll be asking to come again very often.

Summoners War: First LD Nat5 + Bonus

I've been saving for the last 2 months for a summoning session once the new units are released. I didn't get any of the new Omniyouji but I did get my first LD Nat5 off 8 Light & dark scrolls - a shiny dark omniyouji. And then a shocker LD5 off 2 scrolls on an alternate account ... one where I cannot play with the Nat5  *sobz.

I immediately built it up with full +15 runes and artifacts and even fully skilled with devilmons. Turns out its a lacklustre unit, mainly for guild war or siege offence against tanky teams only. Sigh ... if only I had pulled the other LD unit on my main.

I have the Dark Desert Queen awakened but leaving it for display at Lv1. It's a 2-3* only account so I can't play with it. Maybe one day if I complete all the mission and achieve SSS in all the dungeons with 2-3* only units, I may consider using my Nat5s. But for now I can only admire the beautiful queen.

New Potty Spot

阳阳 has a living room potty spot that he goes to every time he wants to poop. Its at the corner of the living room and he would pull a chair or basket to cover the front, like as if he was going to the toilet.

These days he has a new spot in the bedroom. I think it was borne out of times when he wants to poop in the middle of the night.

Again he will pull something to cover the 'entrance'. It's so cute watching him mimic a toilet setting. I kinda like and encourage that he does this instead of simply pooping anywhere he likes. I remember 萱萱 trying to poop in the middle of the walkway at Vivocity years ago. That doesn't happen with 阳阳, he'll have to find a quiet corner to do his business.

Children Art: Paper Roll Unicorns

CNY weekend so we are not going anywhere, especially with all the Covid control measures. I think Meimei has been planning it for awhile since it requires used toilet rolls. 

The kids were naturally excited with the opportunity to get their hands dirty. They made a mess in the study room but it's totally worth it to see their glee and raised eyebrows when they complete their unicorns.

CNY 2021

This year was a simple CNY. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, each household can only have 8 visitors in a day ... which is GREAT! No need to run around the island meeting distant relatives I see only once a year. It's just Ah Gong, Ah Ma and Nyaong Nyama. Swee!

Not sure how Meimei was able to get the kids to pose like those clothing adverts you see in 8 days magazines in the photo above. But they sure look lovely in their CNY outfits. 

So glad we have a quiet CNY. Can we have it the same again next year ... but without the virus? Hehe.
