First school holiday and I was not prepared at all. I'm a bad parent hahah didn't setup any activities or courses nor outings. Everything was simply impromptu and on the fly. Well its hard when both parents have a full time job. We tried to put 萱萱 in student care but she rather stay home to play and waste the day away. I guess that's what we have done in our day but the competition's immense these days. Oh well, I'll try to do better next time in Dec.
It wasn't after it dropped out that we could clearly see that 萱萱's front tooth was rotting. We have been telling her time and again to chew and swallow faster so her teeth don't rot but to no avail. Haiz. Hopefully she out grows this and eats faster when her adult tooth grows out.
I think this month has to be the first time Meimei involved both kids in the Pokemon Go community day event. With them obviously we couldn't go walking about the neighbourhood - we'll get to it when they are older - so they were crowded around the dining table to catch Deinos together.
Meimei went as far as buying the event quest for the kid's accounts so everyone gets to participate together. I didn't join in though as I've been out of it for a few years now. I'm just glad to see the kids enjoying the me-time with Meimei on a topic that everyone can connect on.
As with all things kids related, they don't have the attention span to last the whole event. So after half hour or so 阳阳 was already bored and off to play with this toys. 萱萱 followed awhile later and Meimei ended up catching the pokemons on 3 phones.
Meimei took the advice of 萱萱's primary school teachers and managed to convince her to write a story. I'm genuinely impressed that she was able to form sentences together to write up a simple make-believe story.
阳阳 has been complaining and questioning why he has to go school when 萱萱 can stay at home and play the whole day. So we took the chance to bring him alone to the sheltered playground today as a treat to pacify his feelings of unfairness.
We were able to dedicated the entire playtime to him. He wanted to play monster catch so I happily obliged and chased him around the ground. Hearing him laughing and smiling makes it all worthwhile.
Seeing 萱萱 & 阳阳 's interest in drawing and colouring, Meimei has been hunting for an art class where they can get structured training to improve and express their creativity. It happens that there is an art training studio that open recently(?) at Bedok Heartbeat where its so much more convenient to bring the kids.
They brought back the art work that they did in class. I'm impressed by the works and it really makes a difference when you have professional guidance. We'll gonna sign them up for a term and see if they can develop the interest and skills. Hopefully the kids focus on learning the techniques and make more beautiful pieces.
I started playing a new gacha that's been released for about a month. It has a very different art style from most others where there are sexy and overly fan-service depiction of female characters. I typically don't pay too much attention to the animation. I prefer good balanced gameplay and Dislyte seems to be getting it right. The only grip I have is on the daily energy refill limits.
Again we'll see how long this game sticks. This though has to be the first portrait mode game that I've played for more than a day. They seem to get the dimensions right so hopefully I won't get turned off too soon.
Today was a special treat for the kiddos. After a 2 year hiatus due to Covid, the fire stations are now hosting for Saturday morning open house tours again. Everyone got up early, specially the kids who were so excited they wouldn't go back to bed even though it was only 6 plus.
We were there early and thank goodness ... by the time the open house was to start, there were probably close to 80-100 people waiting in queue. They broke us up into groups of 15-20 people and we went around to check out the different vehicles.
The kids also got to try out doing CPR and get onto the back of an ambulance. We also watch how quick a fireman has to get into his fight fighting gear, which is no easy feat. It was definitely an educational and fulfilling trip.
We ended the day with the kids posing at the fireman pole.
Overall I think 萱萱 enjoyed the trip more than 阳阳. Rather odd but I think 阳阳 may have a preconceived idea of his favourite fire trucks and fire station. So when faced with the real thing that may not have lived up to his own imaginary hype and excitement, he acted out towards the end of the tour.
Dad was very happy we all came over to celebrate his birthdays. He especially misses the grandkids.
They had 40% wide discount on the online store 3 days before closing down. I went in and there was only 2 selection of cognac left. So I bought 2 bottles of the Martell Noblige. Never tried it before I like the VSOP so this should be a little notch above that.
