Paw Patrol Parade

The kids love the Paw Patrol cartoons. They will regularly sing the theme song and ask for youtube videos on them. As doting parents we bought them a lot of Paw Patrol toys, so much that 萱萱 was able to put together a parade for the pups.

Extending the Fridge And Washer Base

We have been wanting to do this for the longest time. Our fridge has been giving us lots of problems with the freezing and the motor gets pretty loud often. I always suspected it was due to the lack of space around the fridge for it to dissipate heat.

So the base was extended by about 30cm and now we have a good 5-6cm on each side of the fridge. Hopefully this helps. This also gives us the flexibility to get a 2 door fridge in the future.

Home Cooked Goodness: Best Yosenabe

I have a staple order at Sushi-Teh, Chirashi-don and Yosenabe. So for the longest time (years), the only time I have Yosenabe was when we dine at Sushi-Teh. That has all changed, Meimei now makes a mean mean Yosenabe that hands down beats any other. This is the only Yosenabe I'll be having going forward, period.

Arm Prints For National Day

萱萱 was excited to receive 'stickers' from school for the National Day celebrations. It's simple fun so we indulged her when she asked that everyone gets one on their arms.

Dressing Up For National Day At School

I love the matching outfits. I don't think they can grasp the concept of national day yet. For them it's a fun day where they can play dress-up at school and potentially have extra snacks and gifts.

Splitting the Oreo's

You would think all kids like the sweet and crunchy taste of Oreos. But no no no, 阳阳 only likes the chocolate biscuit and not the sweet vanilla filling. Usually kids will be so excited to get treats and pop them immediately into their mouths. But here 阳阳 is patiently peeling off the whites. We already knew he doesn't like sweet stuff but to see him splitting the whites out of the Oreo's is just so cute.

New Pirelli Tyres

I was advised to change the tyres on the Caddy during the recent maintenance. Oddly enough, they did not have the same model of Goodyear Efficient Grip tyres in stock. Even more bewildering was the attitude of the service rep, who didn't seem interested in getting me to change my tyres at Volkswagen. No matter, I asked him to get back to me with a quote and I'll compare it with 3rd party tyre shops. I rather get it done at Volkswagen but that's not much of a choice if they don't carry it.

He came back a few days later with a quote of $1,200 for a set of 4 tyres. I had search on the internet and some were offering it at almost half the quote. So even the lacklustre followup, I decided to get it changed at another workshop. Because the Caddy isn't a common vehicle many workshops did not carry it.

The technician offered that Pirelli tyres were quieter and safer for a family vehicle so I went with it instead even though it cost $60 more than the Goodyear.

The replacement took about 40 minutes and I was able to watch the technicians work. If this had been done at Volkswagen it would have probably taken half a day to queue for my turn.

Playdoh Roses

萱萱 asked to play playdoh and surprised us with roses. She had seen this in one of the videos Nyama showed her and she managed to pick it up. What a smart girl.

Exos Heros: My First Anime Style Gacha

I know I mentioned before that I don't take to anime games. However the graphics is so detailed and good on this game that I took to it immediately.

There isn't really a grind like Summoners War or MMEG. Well there are daily quest and dungeons to do. But you only get 3 tickets for each dungeon and if you want to do it more it'll cost a lot of hard cash. So basically once you have completed them you are done for the day.

The plus of this is that you don't have to dedicate your whole day on the game. It also has a 5 hourly dispatch activity and afk farming. So if you are min maxing, you log in every 5 hours.

It's a side game now and I don't see it ever becoming a main. I do however highly recommend the story mode which is very engaging and helps build your affection for the main characters.

Sand Play At Home

When you cannot go to the fun, you bring the fun to you! Meimei bought a sandbox play set which comes with some man-made artificial sand.

As always the kiddos were very excited about the new toy, more so that its sand which they can mash in their hands and get all dirty.

Helping Papa Fix Up Stuff

阳阳 helped me put together a shelving unit to place on top of the oven. He was very patient to let me   piece together the difficult parts and watched how I turned the screwdriver.

阳阳 takes an interest in what we do. He rather accompany us on activities than watch videos or play with toys alone. That's a good thing, children learn through imitation.

Yeeyee's Big Day

Finally our little Sis is getting married. Everyone's very happy and excited.

Due to Covid, all the wedding plans were disrupted so today is a simple wedding registration and lunch with immediate family only. There is even a 10 pax limit in the wedding solemnisation room.  We gave the two kiddos the once in a life time chance to see their YeeYee take her wedding vows and I watched it from the hallway instead.

We took quite a number of family pics but I didn't want to splash the entire family photo in the blog. This post was really to mark this joyous occasion and show off 萱萱's pretty dress and 阳阳's smart attire for the wedding hehe.
